The Clothes Show 2009 has finished and we loved every minute of it! A collection of all the latest fashion bargains under one roof proved to be all it would take to convince every fashion thirsty girl to grab a ticket for the show. As a profiled exhibitor not only did we offer great low prices but we gave anyone with a VIP pass an extra 10% off their purchases, and this proved to be a great success! Our main goal for this years show was to give the public a taster of what we’re all about, – Great fashion and costume jewellery at fantastic value for money. This worked and we are already thinking ahead and looking forward to the Clothes Show Live 2010!
Our exhibition stand was in the blue zone right next to Anita’s Vintage Fashion Fair and close to Punkyfish. Other main attractions to this years event were Rimmel and Boohoo.com both dishing out goody bags full of tasty fashion treats. Our best sellers were sparkly bracelets, cocktail rings, fashion rings and divine crystal jewellery sets, all proving that looking great can cost far less than you ever imagined!
The first day of the show was a nice introduction with students a plenty and I personally had the opportunity to pop into the fashion theatre for the 11am show, which was a treat in itself with lots of light hearted festive fun, clothes styles galore, dresses, dancing and a performance from the up and coming boy band Vice. During the show I was also paying particular attention to the fashion styles being flaunted and indulging my mind with tips and ideas for the up and coming season.
Here’s a list of fashion hints that I noticed from the show and made note of:-
- Shiny silk fabrics in black, grey, purple and cream.
- Suit jackets and blazer tops.
- Mini skirts.
- Purple, red and blue colours.
- Tartan jackets and tartan nightwear.
- Wearing lots of layers to create boho style.
- Faux fur fashion accessories.
- Sexy Miss Santa dresses and underwear.
- Thigh high striped stockings.
- Angel wings.
- Military toy soldier theme.
- Gypsy mish mash of colours.
- Mosaic/paper mache effect.
- Sassy black & red gothic fashion.
- Catwoman suits.
- Bright contrasting colours.
The weekend was incredibly busy and packed with hungry shoppers looking out for those all important Christmas gifts. Our belly bars proved to be a big hit because they make the perfect little jewellery gift and are increasingly popular with both the young and older generations!
All I can actually remember from the weekend experience is the dishing out of jewellery to the surrounding hoards of people, and hearing the screams of delight in the background from the audience watching the catwalk performances. After being at the show for a couple of days you almost became immune to the increased noise levels of excitement and the ever present thumping of bass music coming from every direction off different stands. Actually, our part of the blue zone was probably the most tranquil and directly in front of us was the opportunity to enjoy a relaxing massage from one of the Heaven Sent Nation Masseurs!
We all thought that Monday and Tuesday would have been quieter days at the show, but we guessed completely wrong as Monday brought over 600 coaches of students and school children all eager to spend their hard earned cash and pocket money! It was pretty intense and the atmosphere was something that really has to be experienced to be fully appreciated.
The final day was the icing on the cake as thousands of shoppers turned up looking for those last minute bargains in the hope that prices would be dropped. Anyone who bought jewellery from us during the Clothes Show Live was lucky enough to get a 20% discount code to use on our website. We would like to take this opportunity to thank all our customers both online and offline and hope you all enjoy your purchases. Remember there’s still plenty of time to do that last minute Christmas shopping and we’re here to help you on your way x x x
