Wales’ favourite couple announce split

Of course, the breaking news this week has been the breakdown of the relationship between Welsh songstress/up and coming celebrity, Charlotte Church, and rugby hero, Gavin Henson.

Only six weeks ago, the couple announced their engagement and until recently, have been busy planning a wedding in the Caribbean.  However, newspaper reports indicate that Charl was becoming increasingly unhappy playing the role of mum at home, and even less happy about Gavin’s trip to Norway to film reality TV show 71 Degrees North, with ex-Footballer’s Wives star, Susie Amy.

Conversely, Charl’s role as presenter of Over the Rainbow commenced on Gavin’s return, and there are suggestions that Gavin has become jealous of the singer’s re-emerging career, whilst his is effectively floundering.

Whatever the reason (and we assume there are several), the couple have been rowing consistently over recent weeks, and, we are told, have come to the conclusion that a split is the only answer – sad news indeed for their two year old daughter Ruby and one year old son, Dexter.

It is thought that Charlotte will remain in their £1.2 million home in Wales to raise their children, whilst Gavin will stay on his luxury yacht, moored at Swansea, until he finds another home.

Having discussed this at length, the Seasonsonline team thinks that age and circumstance has a lot to do with these circumstances.  Both Charl and Gavin liked a drink and a good night out as we know, so we were all surprised when they decided to have children after three years together.  At the tender age of only 24, Charlotte has discovered herself as a stay at home mum with two small children, whilst her husband, as she probably sees it, is off jetsetting with beautiful women.

Now that she’s lost all that weight, is looking hotter than ever, and has the makings of a career in TV, she’s regained her confidence and realised that she’s still very young.  There have been reports in recent weeks of her returning to her old, wild ways and it appears that the honeymoon is very much over between her and Gavin – before the wedding has even taken place.

So whilst this news is somewhat predictable, it is nevertheless very sad – particularly for the couple’s two children, who will not, it seems, grow up to see and remember their parents in what was once a very loving relationship.  Since at the moment there seem to be no other romances in the picture, we hope that Gavin and Charlotte will at least manage to stay civil and perhaps even friends, continuing to bring their children up in a loving and stable environment.
