It might be all she wants for Christmas, but celebrity Mariah Carey’s priorities evidently lie elsewhere other than the new film she was due to star in, the catchily titled “'For Coloured Girls Who Have Considered Suicide When the Rainbow Is Enuf”.
The latest news is that the singing sensation has pulled out of her movie acting role, only weeks before she was due to start filming, sparking rumours that she may be pregnant. This recent decision has added fuel to these rumours, started when she stated at the Independent Spirit Awards in March, that “..there’s also something else very special on the way. I can’t say any more”.
Famous for her numerous failed relationships, Mariah finally settled down and tied the knot with actor hubby Nick Cannon in 2008, after a whirlwind six week relationship. Miraculously, the marriage has so far survived, with the couple renewing their wedding vows only last month.
Feedback from the Carey camp has so far been a very firm “no comment”, but with newspapers across the globe reporting that “friends” (which appear to be coming out of the woodwork) have confirmed the news, it can only be a matter of days for someone, somewhere to confirm whether or not Ms Carey does indeed have a designer cupcake in the oven.
Of course if it is good news, we in the Seasonsonline office will all be delighted for Mariah – but given her penchant for wearing the highest heels and the tightest dresses which barely cover her greatest assets, we can’t help but wonder what her choice of maternity wear will be – floral strapless dresses? Slash fronted dungarees? Backless smocks? What the hell – a premature congratulations to Mr & Mrs Cannon. We hope to see a mini diva soon.
