London Jewellery Week - What's Hot!

Jewellery designers and fashionistas alike will be running amok in London this week, all gathering to celebrate the famed London Jewellery Week, which originally ran in 2008 and 2009.

Designers including Liberty, Emma Snowdon and Alexander Davis will be showing us some of their beautiful pieces using some staggering gemstones, innovative designs and a whole host of metals – bet there’ll be one or two security guards on hand at the displays in Covent Garden, Sloane Street, Clerkenwell, Goldsmiths and Elizabeth Street!

One of the Seasonsonline team’s favourite designers simply has to be Eastern Mystic Jewellery. Handmade pieces (by Sonal Talgeri-Bhaskaran – an ex-banker!) celebrating Indian tradition, these collections truly are a work of art and reflect beautifully, Sonal’s Indian background and heritage. All of Sonal’s jewellery is made with Fairtrade 24ct Gold Vermeil, Silver and gemstones.

However, for those of us who would wince at Sonal’s price tags (necklaces starting from £150 and moving upwards towards £1000), you can capture the same look at a fraction of the price.

You too can be an Eastern princess, with Seasononline’s fantastic range of ethnic jewellery.

With pieces starting from just £5.99, our tribal-inspired collection makes the ideal accessory for prints, maxi dresses – and pretty much any summer occasion!

Remember however, that you can easily go overboard with this style of jewellery, so if you choose to wear a chunky necklace, make sure your earrings and bracelets are plainer. Similarly, if you’re opting for this season’s chunky bracelets or perhaps a cuff, then make sure the rest of your jewellery is balanced out, to avoid looking too “busy”.

London Jewellery Week runs from 7 to 13 June, in various locations throughout the capital. Fashion shows, launch parties, displays and other activities will be taking place each day, so if you’re out and about in London, do check the website first to see what’s on and when.

If you can’t make it, don’t worry. We’ll keep you updated as to who’s wearing what, who’s up and coming, the latest designs and how to copy them, so you don’t become the most stylish homeless person in your area.

And in the meantime, here’s a photo of the beautiful supermodel Iman with husband David Bowie, showing us exactly how to pull off the ethnic look for the new decade – simple, stylish and stunning. Notice how she’s made her necklaces the focus and avoided any jewellery elsewhere.
